Training And Selection Criteria England Kata "A" Squad

This document forms a guide for all kata athletes wishing to train and select for the English Karate Federation Kata “A” Squad and the National Kata Squad.

General Guidance

Training

• Training is for all Associations and styles that are affiliated to the EKF.
• The minimum age to train is 12 years.
• The minimum grade is 4th kyu.
  
• Licence check will be done on the day, failure to have an up to date licence or show your licence will result in not being allowed to train.
• The cost for training is £15

Selections

• Selection is for all Associations and styles that are affiliated to the EKF.
• Minimum age to select is 14 years.
• You must select for the England kata “A” squad before you select for the national squad.
• The national squad will only be picked from members of the kata “A” squad.
• Competition tracking forms will be checked on the day, failure to show your forms will result in not being allowed to select.
• The cost for selections is £20.
