About ASKC

The Association of Shotokan Karate Clubs (ASKC), is a family orientated shotokan karate association, which has been running since January 2013. The ASKC are affiliated Nationally, to the English Karate Federation, the only karate governing body recognised but the International Olympic Committee.


We have three senior karate Instructors all of which are grade registered nationally with the English Karate Federation, fully insured and DBS checked. All three Instructors have been training in shotokan karate for at least 18 years. 

Our clubs train mainly in traditional shotokan karate, but also elements of modern day karate. Weapons training is also another element we offer in some of our clubs including: nunchuks, bo, escrima and tonfa.


All of our students are eligible to compete in our association competition annually, and exceptional students are picked to represent the association at the nataional karate tournament held by the English Karate Federation annually. This gives students the opportunity to become a national karate champion!
