Please be informed that the 2026 Prohibited List  was recently approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) Executive Committee and will come into force on January 1st 2026.

Being familiar with the Prohibited List is crucial for any sporting community, especially athletes, coaches, physios and athlete support personnel, as any modifications might have a direct impact on their daily routines and responsibilities. We're therefore encouraging National Federations to share this information with all their members in our Karate Community, in order to provide them with the necessary tools to be fully prepared for the upcoming season.

For further information regarding the updated list, as well as the 2026 Monitorng Program, please be referred to WADA's 2026 Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes, which are available as well at the WKF Anti-Doping section of our website. 

It should be noted that athletes who have a legitimate medical reason for using a prohibited substance or method that is on the List can apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) to determine whether they meet the criteria outlined in the International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions (ISTUE).
