Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts
The English Karate Federation CIC is delighted to announce that it has formally been awarded the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts for Governing Organisations certification.
About the Safeguarding Code "To Safer Sport"
The award recognises the EKF’s commitment to high safeguarding standards, safer practice, governance, welfare and participant protection across all aspects of karate activity.
The EKF has supported the development of the Sport England funded Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts since its inception and has been actively involved in multi-disciplinary discussions across the martial arts sector during both the development and implementation phases of the Safeguarding Code.
Since that time, a number of EKF affiliated clubs and Associations have successfully gone on to achieve the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts mark of quality.
Following the organisation’s transition from a Limited Company structure to a Community Interest Company (CIC), the EKF undertook a significant review and enhancement of its governance arrangements, safeguarding framework and policy suite. The award of the Governing Organisations accreditation reflects that continued organisational development and commitment to continuous improvement.
This accreditation reflects the work undertaken across the organisation to strengthen governance, safeguarding systems and organisational standards and demonstrates the EKF’s continued commitment to safe and inclusive karate participation.”
The EKF would like to thank the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts team for their support and collaborative approach throughout the process.
The EKF encourage all clubs and Associations affiliated to our organisation to work through the process and apply to the Safeguarding Code. Contact info@nwgnetwork.org for more information and support
