International Women's Day 2021

International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while calling for the acceleration of women's equality and fundraising for female-focused charities. It started in 1911 and has been celebrated in this country since 1914. It was adopted by the United Nations in 1975.

The Karate world has been a platform of growth for Women and the equality message. The EKF has a commitment to continue to develop as an organisation that promotes Equality throughout.

This year's theme is 'Choose to Challenge', which includes challenging stereotypes, calling out gender bias and inequality and choosing to celebrate women's achievements. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge and together we can all help create an inclusive world.
