Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement

The English Karate Federation strives to ensure that our Sport  is participated, watched, delivered, governed and enjoyed by all, with no individual receiving more or less favourable treatment because of a protected characteristic.

We will also ensure that our members can train and compete in an environment where difference is valued, and discrimination of any sort is not tolerated.

Karate within England has a proud tradition of being a platform for diversity and has been for generations. Karate provides opportunities for all regardless of race, gender or socio-economic background. The EKF has a diverse representation at all levels of the organisation from grassroots to Board level and will continue to embrace the benefits that this brings to us as an organisation.

English Karate Federation recognise the need to listen, engage and understand our membership and this is central to our work in the short term and will allow us to inform our long term plans.  Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is genuine and long term, so if you have any ideas on how to make our sport more diverse and inclusive, please email EDI@englishkaratefederation.com  and we will listen and work together as one EKF.

We are also looking for examples of inclusivity, so please get in touch with us if you’ve got a story you want to share.

To understand the wideranging benefits which can be realised by becoming an inclusive club, please see the below guidance.
