Annual General Meeting of the EKF - Message from the President
To all EKF members,
The Annual General Meeting of the EKF will take place on 29th April in Coventry. In addition to the necessary business of agreeing accounts, I would like to enable all Association representatives to have the opportunity to take part in an informal discussion with the EKF Board, together with the National Coach and Chief Referee on any issues or concerns that they might have about the future of Karate in this country.
I have already sent out a personal invitation to Heads of Associations to attend. If those individuals are unable to do so, then I would like Associations to consider sending alternative representatives, so that we can hear to views of as many of our member groups as possible. If anyone would like to attend and your Association has not indicated that they will be there, please contact your Chief Instructor and seek his/her nomination.
One of the key problems the Board faces at the moment is the enormous amount of work required to run the National Governing Body for Karate. We must secure the assistance of additional volunteers to help with this work as the pressure on the Board members, who are themselves volunteers, is becoming too great. I need the services of members of EKF clubs or their families who might have a few hours to give, managing finances, Criminal Record checks and other tasks that help the day-to-day running of the EKF. I would encourage anyone who would like to assist to contact me, particularly if you have experience of business, finance or database management, but even if you just want to volunteer, I would be very happy to hear from you.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the AGM.
With best wishes to you all,
