New EKF Board Member - Kevin Barrett
Mr Kevin Barrett from the WKU has now been formally offered a seat on the board of the EKF by the President to which Mr Barrett has formally accepted. Mr Barrett was the person who polled the next highest vote score at the recent AGM has therefore been offered the post, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the EKF.

Appointment of Ticky Donovan O.B.E

Dave Inman completes Bath Half Marathon for Help for Heroes

English Karate Associations (EKA) Championships April 2010
The board of the EKF do not recognise the (EKA) English Karate Associations as it is not a member of the EKF, it therefore follows that the EKF do not recognise the forthcoming EKA championships to be held April 10th 2010 at the Richard Dunn Centre Bradford. The EKA championships is therefore NOT an EKF authorised event, and the advice from the EKF board is NOT to have sporting relations with non-EKF members. On Behalf of the EKF Board

Maltese Open Competition
It has been brought to the English Karate Federation’s (EKF) attention, that the Malta Karate Federation (MKF), do not recognise or sanction the Maltese Open Competition on Saturday 13th March 2010 hosted by SKSM. The organisers SKSM are not members of the Maltese governing body. Therefore we have to advise you that anyone taking part in this competition will be in breach of article 21.9 and therefore subject to sanctions as laid down by the WKF. Please be advised that the WKF are aware of this situation.

EKF Chief Referee and EKF Events Organiser Appointed
On Sunday 20th December the board held interviews for the positions of EKF Chief Referee and EKF Events Organiser. The successful candidates were Dale Gamble as Chief Referee and Paul Campbell as EKF Events Organiser. The Board wish both Dale & Paul every success in their new roles within the EKF.
