Neurodiversity
Everyone experiences karate differently
Neurodivergence describes differences in how people think, learn, communicate and experience the world. It can include autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and a wide range of other differences.
Karate is open to neurodivergent people, just as it is to everybody else. Our aim is to help create environments where people can participate, feel that they belong, and have the opportunity to develop in ways that work for them.
On this page, you can find information for neurodivergent karateka and people considering karate, as well as resources for parents, carers, clubs and coaches looking to support somebody who is neurodivergent.
