All 4 home nations competed, this included over 1400 individual entries and over 90 teams participating, this was to be the largest and most successful BKF championships todate. Many assocaitions from the EKF made the the trip to Edinburgh for the weekends events.

There was some outstanding displays in the kata section with many EKF competitors medalling and taking top spots on the podium. The kumite followed soon after and again the EKF competitors did extremley well. With such a large number of competitors this kept the referees and officials alike busy over the whole weekend. All 6 mats were kept running all day thanks to the efforts of all the officials and referees ensuring a very successful championships.

The second day saw the childrens events and new disability categories introduced for the first time. The new events ensured everyone the chance to compete no matter what their ability and proved highly successful with much positive feedback from parents and competitors.

The EKF would like to thank the BKF, the SKGB's Hamish Adams for organising the event and Chief Referee Chico Mkwabe and all officals and competitors for making the event a very enjoyable and successful championships.
