European Cadet, Junior, and Under 21 Championships, Tampere, Finland

Due to the on-going pandemic and continuing uncertainty, the EKF Board have taken the difficult decision to not participate in the forthcoming European Cadet, Junior, and Under 21's Championships being held next month in Finland.

The health and safety of our athletes, coaches and staff is paramount in our thinking. We have been continually monitoring the situation, and felt the inherent COVID risks posed by travelling were too great. In addition, there has been no change in the travel restrictions imposed by either the UK or Finnish Governments, and with increasing infection rates in the UK (which is the highest in Europe), there are no signs that change is imminent. As such, we cannot, with any confidence, make any travel arrangements at this time.

We know that this decision will be disappointing, and we share that disappointment. However, when all the facts are considered, we hope that you will understand why we have come to this conclusion.
