The value and respect of all karateka sits firmly at the heart of the EKF’s values. Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion is important to ensure we can be an organisation for all.

I am happy to offer all our HOA’s, Club Sensei’s and Coaches the opportunity to attend a FREE online Workshop that we have arranged in collaboration with the Activity Alliance. The workshop will look at how to engage and be more inclusive to disabled people in sport, by further raising awareness and the understanding of disability and sport.

We will host two online workshops:

Monday 19th April: 18:00 – 19:30 via zoom

Wednesday 21st April: 18:00 -19:30 via zoom

The session will be led by Jess Cook. Jess is the National Partnership Advisor for the Activity Alliance who supports and guides national partners, including the National Governing Bodies of sport by raising awareness and understanding with disabled people’s sporting inclusion. Jess enjoys bringing people together to create more conversations about disabled people’s sporting participation. Her work involves finding new ways to bring out the best in organizations, so they can be more inclusive.

The session will cover:

  • How to engage disabled people to be more active in karate?
  • What is disability?
  • Research and insight
  • Engaging with disabled people
  • Resources
  • Training
