World Autism Day
Today we celebrate World Autism Day!
Every year the United Nations celebrates this day with the sole purpose of spreading awareness about autism. Raising awareness helps people to learn, understand and support those with autism.
Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental disability which can cause difficulties in communication, interaction with others
and experiences in everyday situations.
No two people on the spectrum are the same & Autism can present in many different ways. While the cause of Autism is not fully understood
studies have shown that exercise interventions, including karate, can help with motor performance and social skills in children and adults with Autism.
The EKF have worked hard on developing a coaching guide to better assist coaches teaching students with Autism. This will follow shortly so keep an eye out for its publication.
